Profipilot History

2024 was a trully busy and diverse year for both ProfiPilot Training and Aero Language. The SK.ATO.15 extended the training scope to 55 trainings on the ATO capability list, which made us one among the biggest flight schools in region.

The decision to extend the ProfiPilot Training to provide hot-air balloon trainings brought us to the point to establish ProfiPilot Balloons and purchase a hot-air balloon into our operation. The Balloon trainings will be branded as balloon.school.

Aero Language became a supplier of language proficiency testing for Edelweiss Airlines as well as we became the only organisation authorised to provide the language proficiency testing for whole Azerbaijan.

As a result of the long lasting certification process and after the uphill battle the ProfiPilot secured so-far the longest extension of the SK.ATO.15 certification. As of 2022 the ProfiPilot is as one of a very few ATOs in Europe authorized to provide the full program towards the CRJ typeratings, TRI and SFI trainings and many more. The certification is still ongoing.

As a result of the ongoing pandemics, the Aero Language secured the authorisation to provide the online assessments of language proficiency. Aero Language also reached another major milestone. We have introduced our own and self-developed administration system for exam workflow. Centralized system enhances already high efficiency, allows to maintain high standards as well as the better oversight over the organisation.

In parallel the ongoing certification of SK.ATO.15 brings another trainings into the ProfiPilot Training scope. As of 2022 we are allowed to provide the basic trainings such as VFR Night, Class Rating Instructor and class rating trainings.

Just before the COVID-19 pandemics hit the world, ProfiPilot secured the ATO certificate. In February 2020 the ProfiPilot secured SK.ATO.15 certificate issued by Transport Authority of Slovak Republic. The certification was initially to provide theoretical knowledge instruction trainings only. Nevertheless the long-lasting certification process to extend the ATO certificate scope was ongoing.

In parallel to the ongoing certification of the language testing body, ProfiPilot commenced the process of certification of the EASA approved training organisation. In June 2019 the Transport Authority has issued the SVK.LAB.04 certificate and authorised ProfiPilot to provide the language proficiency assessments on its behalf. The language proficiency service of ProfiPilot was commericaly branded Aero Language. Another supporting websites such as www.icao-english.sk and www.icao-english.eu were introduced.

With an idea of establishing a very flexible language proficiency testing provider, the ProfiPilot started the certification process of the language testing body. After a careful consideration, the Slovak National supervisory authority was chosen as the certifying authority for our new project. The project was later called Aero Language. In parallel to the certification, the commercial side of the project has been established as well and domain www.language.aero was registered.

Professional expertise and aviation training-related know-how was shared was duly demonstrated in 2014. We have participated in establishing 2 major flight schools in Slovak Republic. The certification basis of both flight schools was the freshly implemented pan-European Part-FCL regulatory standards. Transition from JAR-FCL1 to Part-FCL system was a true challenge for all people involved. The fact that both approved training organisations are using manuals crafted by ProfiPilot up until now proves the high standards of the services we delivered.

In 2013 we were busy with the startup and operation of the newly established flight school Opera Jet. The project became very popular and successful under the lead of the ProfiPilot.

The ProfiPilot Magazine undergone rebranding. In mid 2013 we have introduced a brand-new modern flat design. The services provided by ProfiPilot.sk developed further into the comprenehsive photo gallery, market place and additional services.

Year 2012 was truly busy. The post cirsis aviation industry was growing and we were part of it. We were signed to lead the establishment of the very first flight school in Bratislava called Opera Jet. The certification of Opera Jet flight school was completed in early 2012. Later in 2012 we have provided the operational support in purchasing the very first produced, brand new Diamond DA-42-VI Twin Star for a private owner as well as 2 factory brand new PS-28 Cruiser for the training need of the Opera Jet flight school.

The ProfiPilot transforms from the small project into the business registered company. In late July 2011 the business limited liability company ProfiPilot, s.r.o. was registered at County court Trenčín, Slovak Republic under the company identification 46 279 741. Main intention is to provide the consultancy services in civil aviation.

The popularity of our ProfiPilot.sk is increasing significantly. We have gradually added the services such as preflight briefing with an interactive maps for the pre-flight. In late 2010 the ProfiPilot.cz - Czech localization of ProfiPilot was launched.

In parallel the famous VyhliadkoveLety.sk was rebranded and new website introduced shortly after ProfiPilot.cz was launched.

The popularity of ProfiPilot.sk was increasing as there was not a such media in the Slovak internet. ProfiPilot.sk became popular very quickly. We can proudly say that everybody in Slovak aviation community was aware of our portal and many of community members were registered at ProfiPilot.sk. To respond the demand we have introduced new layout with new structure. Besides the advices for an aspiring pilot, we have transformed the ProfiPilot.sk into the community portal with a strong discussion forum and magazine. There were daily topics to discuss from all branches of aviation industry. The decision turned successful as the ProfiPilot.sk was a media played an important role in the local aviation market promoting the flight schools and services. What needs to be emphasized is that all happened before Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram were cool...

The summer of 2009 was the strongest season of our sightseeing flights project VyhliadkoveLety.sk. We flew hundreds of hours mainly from Zilina and Dubnica airfields. Majority of our flight were heading to High Tatras.

In 2008, the new service offering the sight seeing flights over Slovak Republic has been launched. Dedicated domain called vyhliadkovelety.sk (sightseeing flights) was registered. VyhliadkoveLety.sk was launched in late 2008. At the time the service was very popular and kept our pilots busy every weekend.

In mid 2007 the domain www.profipilot.sk was registered by Milan Mazanovský, a founder of ProfiPilot. At the time, Milan was about to complete his ATPL(A) theory written exams and undertaking the Frozen ATPL(A) at University of Zilina. His aim was to establish the "portal for (future) pilots and aviation enthusiasts". ProfiPilot.sk and its content was a pioneer in such in the Slovak internet aviation community. The initial idea was to share the training-related information for all pilot wannabes.
